Stephen Holbut was 27 years of age at the time of his disappearance. Stephen went missing around January 1979. There have been reports that he may have been in the Newcastle area or travelled to Queensland. It is believed he wrote a letter to his father after he had been reported missing. Extensive investigations have not been successful in locating Stephen.

Alan Fox was 21 years of age at the time of his disappearance. On 15 January 1979, Alan was with his partner, Anneke Adriaansen, on holiday, travelling through Kempsey. Alan and Anneke had spent the night in Kempsey and were planning to hitchhike to Berowra Heights. This was the last time they were seen.
