Li Bing Di was born in China on 25 April 1978 and moved to Australia with his parents on 25 September 1985.
Li lived in Hampton Park with his mother Yu Lan Jarrett and stepfather Ian Jarrett until it burnt down in December 2000. After this, Li moved in with his father Suo Fan Di, stepmother Shu Hua Zeng and 2 half siblings at an address in Dandenong South.
Li felt very guilty that the fire at his mothers house may have started due to a discarded cigarette of his and became quite depressed and kept to himself.
Li left his dads, Dandenong South house, on or around 4 February 2001 and never returned. Li’s dad was the last to see Li. It is not known why Li was leaving the house on that day.
Enquiries made by police established Li had been staying on occasion at an address in Dandenong in the year leading up to his disappearance which is where his ex-partner was living.
Li didn’t have a car, he had very little money and did not take any of his personal belongings with him.

Wojtek Stasiak was last seen in Parramatta on 2 February 2001.

Clifford Robert Parker was last sighted at "Hazelwood Station", Sturt Highway, Balranald on 2 January 2001. On that date, Clifford left the property with a small grey/blue backpack and a swag which was marked "Hazelwood". He is believed to have taken his dogs with him.

Gary Payne was 37 years of age at the time of his disappearance. Gary was last seen in Matraville in January 2001. Information exists that suggests he may have moved to Western Australia and is living under an alias.

On Tuesday 12 December 2000, Cherie Westell had a dentist appointment at 12pm at Knox Dental Group, in Wantirna South.
Cherie attended the appointment and she left the surgery at around 12.30 pm.
At 1.58pm, Cherie telephoned her Mooroolbark home from a public telephone box situated on the corner of Selkirk Avenue and Wantirna Road, Wantirna about 5km from the dentist.
Cherie was attempting to make her way home but has not been seen or heard from since.

On 11 December 2000, Clare Hutcheson set off on a hike at Lake St Clair National Park which is 165 km north-west of Hobart. Clare intended to hike the area and return to Hobart on 21 December.
On 20 December, other walkers saw a female who was possibly Clare at an area known as the Labyrinth. Clare did not return to Hobart as planned and she was subsequently reported missing.
Despite large-scale searches, Clare was not located and she remains a missing person.
At time of her disappearance, Clare was aged 20 years.
