Circumstances
On 21 July 1997, Gregory David John Halliday was one of three crew members onboard the fishing vessel ‘Eastern Star’ in waters at Ahrberg Bay on the west coast of Tasmania.
The vessel sank due to a freak wave, and Gregory and the other two crew members Clinton Andrew Patterson and Wayne Joseph Rowlings were lost at sea.
At time of his disappearance, Gregory was aged 40 years.
